Bishop Connie Shelton appoints Rev. Dawson Lane, current Associate Pastor at St. Mark’s UMC (Raleigh), as Associate Director for Clergy Life, effective July 1. Dawson will work to intentionally identify and equip potential candidates for ministry who have the gifts for licensed and ordained ministry in the NC Conference. While serving part-time in The Office of Clergy Life, Dawson will also serve part-time as the pastor of Holly Springs UMC (Holly Springs) beginning in July. We look forward to Dawson’s contributions as he builds upon the ministry of Rev. Hope Ledbetter-Bock. Hope will conclude her appointment as Associate Director of New Faith Communities and Clergy Life at the end of this appointment year. She returns to local church ministry as Lead Pastor of Duke Memorial UMC in Durham, starting July 1.
