Candidacy
Regardless of your ministry path, it all starts with becoming a Certified Candidate. Register for the Candidacy Retreat and find resources to become a Certified Candidate.

01. Steps to Candidacy
The candidacy process is a journey of spiritual discernment for individuals sensing a call to ordained ministry (Elder or Deacon) or licensed ministry (Local Pastor).
02. Candidacy Retreat
Are you exploring a call to ministry? Do you want to start the process of becoming a Certified Candidate in The UMC? If so, this Candidacy Retreat is for you!
The Candidacy Retreat is an all-day virtual event. This is a wonderful day (including some short breaks and a longer lunch break) of hearing from the Bishop, District Superintendents, Local Pastors, Ordained Deacons and Elders, etc. You will meet your mentors, as well as other candidates, on this same discernment journey as you.
We typically hold retreats in January, July, and October. Check the link below for the current dates.
