Every United Methodist congregation is required to have a Safe Sanctuaries policy in place that your congregation knows about and follows. If you don’t think your church has a policy, or you aren’t sure when it was last reviewed, it’s time for a new one!
The NC Conference Safe Sanctuaries Team, in partnership with the Center for Leadership Excellence, has designed a workshop for those who need a refresher on basics and best practices and/or for those who are new to their local church’s Safe Sanctuaries team.
Join us and take this important step toward creating a policy and environment where all who enter your doors are cared for and safe.

About the Workshop: This in-person workshop will be led by the Rev. Mamie Alley, Chairperson of the NC Conference Safe Sanctuaries Team, and will include practical information about policy basics, how to create a local church Safe Sanctuaries team, how to train your congregation on your church’s specific policy, and most importantly, why we need to make Safe Sanctuaries a priority in our churches.
Lunch is included at no cost, but a $10 donation can be made towards the cost of food & supplies for the event during registration.
