Duke Divinity School
Dean Edgardo Colón-Emeric brought greetings from Duke Divinity School and shared current events and programs emerging this year:
- Duke Divinity School is pleased to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its Office of Black of Church Studies, one of the earliest such offices among U.S. seminaries and theological schools.
- A new certificate in Conflict Transformation & Reconciliation has been established to equip pastors and church leaders for the work of reconciliation in their churches and communities.
- Divinity+ is a new program for Duke Divinity alumni and other practitioners seeking to expand and refresh their knowledge and skills through non-degree digital courses and certificates. Learn more at plus.divinity.duke.edu.
- Duke Divinity celebrates the Duke Initiatives in Theology and the Arts and the Ormond Center for Thriving Congregations and Communities. Learn more about these initiatives at divinity.duke.edu/initiatives.
Clergy Spouse Association
In a video narrated by Mike Priddy, President of the Clergy Spouse Association, and Jill Charville, Vice-President of the Clergy Spouse Association, the Clergy Spouse Association highlighted their mission and ministries. Some of these include:
- Sponsorship of the Annual Conference 5k race
- Lanyard ribbons at Annual Conference for clergy spouses
- Congregations for Children (C4C) advocacy
- Advocacy around social injustices
- Increase in moving allowances during reappointment
- Yearly assessments of parsonages for maintenance and updates
- Commitment to providing a safe space for clergy families
- An allowance of $400 per family for mental health needs
