The Council on Finance and Administration (CFA) Chairperson, Anne Lloyd, returned to the podium to present the recommendation of CFA related to the budget amendment referral on Friday afternoon, adding funding to the 2025 budget recommendation. The budget amendment referred included adding $205,000 for NC UM Camp & Retreat Ministries and $120,000 for the Methodist Home for Children. Lloyd reported that CFA met on Friday evening to discuss the referral and any resulting budget implications. Lloyd affirmed the difficult prioritization work done by the Connectional Table and the commitment by CFA to not apportion the same funding levels from disaffiliating churches to churches that remain United Methodist. She further noted that more budget prioritization is to come as approximately $630,000 of the budget is represented by the 59 churches the Annual Conference approved for disaffiliation on Thursday afternoon. Lloyd reported that CFA concurred with the budget amendment by adding the requested $325,000 to line 4 – Missions & Outreach bringing that line to a total of $678,000, and the total budget to $12,201,923, or a 22.45% reduction from what was approved for 2024. Lloyd thanked the CFA members for their wisdom, discernment, and support over her tenure on CFA. Following Lloyd’s report, the budget, as amended, was approved.
