Traditionally, Global Vision is a trip to Washington, D.C. where NCCUMC youth focus on a social justice topic. This year, we are offering a retreat at Camp Don Lee from May 14-16 where high school youth will participate in seminars, build community, and grow in their faith. We will follow the COVID-19 precautions outlined by Camp Don Lee.
Global Vision 2021 is open to students currently in 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade. In addition, to our social justice-focused seminars, we will spend the weekend enjoying fellowship at Camp Don Lee and engaging in traditional camp activities like swimming and sailing. Our weekend will include small group time, worship, and a service opportunity.
During Global Vision 2021, students will explore the scriptural truth that LOVE IS KEY. In a world of rejection and discrimination, our youth will consider how their faith leads them to love their neighbor. Youth will engage in worship and seminars covering a series of topics including: acceptance of the rejected, destigmatizing mental health, and different forms of discrimination including racial and religious discrimination. We will explore how Christians are called to respond to rejection, fear and difference.
Youth registration for Global Vision 2021 will open through April 4, 2021 or until full. Because of COVID-19 precautions, the event will be limited in number. Registration will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis with preference given to upperclassmen if needed.
