The Summer Literacy Initiative from The Duke Endowment added two more sites in Robeson County this year to help more kids with reading. The program at First United Methodist Church in Pembroke started in 2019. Two new sites opened in Robeson County this summer, at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Rowland and Branch Street United Methodist Church in St. Pauls.
