Health Ministry Local Church Grant

Health ministries touch all facets of communal life!

Health/Wholeness/Salvation is God’s desire for the world and her people! The health of people’s physical, emotional, spiritual, relational, individual, and communal life is part of our mission of “making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.”

Mission:  The Health Ministry team of the North Carolina Conference seeks to assist local churches in making disciples by peace-building through the lens of health.

Goal: The Conference Health Ministry team encourages the formation of local church Health Ministry teams, whose mission is to identify and address the *social determinants of health needs in their local community. This grant aims to help churches begin a team or aid existing teams in initiating a new project. Organizations and committees in partnership with the NCCUMC are also encouraged to apply. Please complete the application below by October 31, 2025.

*Examples of social determinants of health:

  • Income and social protection.
  • Healthcare access and quality
  • Education.
  • Unemployment and job insecurity.
  • Working life conditions.
  • Food insecurity.
  • Housing, basic amenities, and the environment.

Recipients of the grant will be required to submit a report by the end of the year detailing their project results and receipts/invoices for grant money spent.
