$ Dreams and Their Meaning For Our Lives (NC Institute for Spiritual Direction & Formation)

Have you ever wondered what your nighttime dreams mean? Have you ever awakened from sleep, scratched your head, and thought, “Wow, that was strange!” What do our dreams mean? Why do we have them? Join us for this three-part online class where we will explore our dreams, engage with them, and discern their meaning in our lives.
In almost every ancient text, including the Bible, dreams are experienced as messages from the Divine. Come learn how to work with this source of wisdom that comes to us in dreams, often called God’s forgotten language. As we dive deeply into the spiritual practice of dream work, we will come to a deeper understanding of how the symbols and images in our dreams can bring meaning to our waking lives.
This class will be interactive. Participants will be asked to keep a dream journal and should be willing to participate in dreamwork. However, the amount and depth of sharing is always up to the participant. Participants can expect large and small group interaction for a uniquely meaningful experience that will continue to add value to their spiritual lives long after the class ends.
1st Class – Intro to Dreamwork: Do our nightly dreams really have value? What do they impart? Wisdom, guidance, a good laugh? All of the above?
2nd Class – The Practice of Dreamwork: Methods of dreamwork for individuals and groups
3rd Class – Experience Projective Dreamwork: Facilitation of a Dream Group

Facilitator: Becky Hambrick is a spiritual director in Cary, NC, offering in-person and online individual and group spiritual direction, dream groups, SoulCollage® workshops and retreats, and Enneagram coaching. Becky completed her spiritual direction training in 2016 through the Haden Institute for Spiritual Direction and Dream Leader Training. It is her profound privilege to accompany others on their spiritual journey supporting them as they explore their dreams, learn creative spiritual practices, and examine their connection to God.
