Border Pilgrimage to El Paso

The reality of life on the borderlands is much more complex and unjust than most people realize. Hope 4 Humanity offers an experiential learning pilgrimage that explores the causes and difficulties of migration, as well as the impact of U.S. immigration policies. This pilgrimage will bring to the forefront the voices of migrants and people committed to social change through hands-on experiences, such as visiting migrant shelters (in the US and Mexico) and interacting with migrants. We will learn about the economics of migration.
We will witness outside Camp East Montana, a detention center at Fort Bliss; visit Chamizal National Memorial Cultural Center, and the Lydia Patterson Institute.
April 28-30, H4H will be partnering with Abara in El Paso, TX. Abara is linked with nearly 20 migrant shelters on both sides of the border. They partner with local leaders to facilitate connections through hospitality, advocacy, and friendship. Team Abara is resourcing shelter leaders, welcoming new arrivals, and assisting migrant entrepreneurs. We join in solidarity with families who are fleeing rivers of violence, despair, and natural disasters in search of refuge, safety, and community. Check out Abara.
A $100 non-refundable deposit is due at registration.
The registration deadline is March 15, 2026.
Full payment is due by April 15, 2026.
Dorm Ticket: $1500 per person, including programming, dorm-style housing, local transportation, and some meals. Transportation to El Paso and some meals are at the participant’s expense.
Hotel Ticket: Cost is $1200 per person, which includes programming, local transportation, and some meals. Transportation, hotel room (in a block of rooms reserved in advance), and some meals are at the participant’s expense.
For cancellations prior to April 15, the cost of the trip already paid is fully refundable, less the $100 deposit. For cancellations after April 15, the trip cost is non-refundable.
