Rev. Ken McLean
Rev. Ken McLean serves as the Director of Church Transformation Ministries (CTM). Following many years in design, construction, and real estate, he answered God’s call and became an ordained Elder. Rev. McLean has pastored all sizes of churches in various life stages and locations. For about ten years now, he and the CTM team have worked with hundreds of churches to equip leaders for pursuing healthy transformation.

Church Transformation Ministries
The CTM team guides local church leaders throughout the NC Conference in one of three discernment processes related to the mission of Jesus Christ.
- “Fruitful Future” helps individual churches clarify their current reality and options, and build consensus on a vision for revitalization, redevelopment, or legacy.
- “Cooperative Community on Mission” strengthens connectional relationships, meets community needs, and makes new disciples.
- “Legacy Planning” includes mergers, reimagining real estate, and closures, which develop resources to help establish new churches in our Conference. Together in Christ, we seek transformation to be faithful now for a fruitful future.

A Disciple Making Ministry
CTM guides churches to discern their best path forward for the mission that Jesus gives his Church, which is Disciple Making. The Team also assists in Leader Forming by coming alongside local church leaders to “…equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ…” (Eph 4:12). Led by the Holy Spirit and working together, we live into our NC Conference Vision Statement: “Healthy Congregations and Effective Leaders in Every Place Making Disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World.” CTM’s Cooperative Communities on Mission especially foster Peace Building as we help develop trusting relationships for healing divisions, meeting community needs, and making new disciples.
