Rev. Bryan Siefert
Rev. Bryan Siefert serves as a spiritual counselor/hospice chaplain in the northwest area of Greensboro, NC. He is a husband, father of a recent college graduate, and ordained elder. In his spare time, he is running, hiking, and/or taking photographs.
Hospice/Palliative Care Chaplain
Rev. Siefert’s current territory stretches from northwest Greensboro into the surrounding rural areas, almost all the way to the Virginia border. He primarily serves as a spiritual counselor/hospice chaplain in the home care setting, but occasionally will provide care in area facilities. Once in a while, he will provide care to a palliative care patient and family. Ministry with patients and families is unique to their specific spiritual care needs and wishes. An interesting part of his ministry in recent years has been helping patients and families reconnect with their faith communities after becoming disconnected during the pandemic.
A Peace Building Ministry
As United Methodists, we believe in doing no harm, which closely aligns with the Hippocratic Oath in healthcare. In palliative medicine, two of the things focused on are symptom management and comfort. As a spiritual counselor, Rev. Siefert journeys with patients and families to assess spiritual care needs and provide spiritual comfort. Within his own scope of practice, he thinks peace building describes much of his work and stems from a desire to be like Christ to those he serves.
