Rev. Jarrod S. Davis
Rev. Jarrod S. Davis serves as the Lead Editor for Adult Curriculum at the United Methodist Publishing House. He is an Elder in the North Carolina Conference, where he has served both in the local church and on Conference staff. A native of eastern North Carolina, Jarrod holds a Bachelor of English from NC State University and a Master of Divinity from Duke. He lives in Sanford with his wife and two daughters.

United Methodist Publishing House
Since the 1930s, the United Methodist Publishing House (UMPH) has been publishing Adult Bible Studies quarterly for the benefit of Sunday school and other small groups in the local churches. In his role as Lead Editor of Adult Curriculum, Jarrod oversees all of the dated curriculum for adults, including the student and teacher books of Adult Bible Studies, the Daily Bible Study books, and all supplementary material, such as the video series, newsletter articles, and commentaries. In addition to the work of editing the manuscripts, Jarrod also recruits and schedules writers, as well as plans out topics and scriptures for the lessons and devotions, and provides writing for these publications and other Cokesbury products as needed. If you’re interested in writing for Adult Bible Studies, reach out to Jarrod!
While the UMPH is still located in Nashville, TN, it became a fully remote workplace in 2020 and now employs men and women around the country.
A Disciple Making Ministry
Study of scripture is foundational to the formation of disciples. As Lead Editor of Adult Curriculum, Jarrod works to provide theologically sound lessons, teacher guides, and daily devotions, all housed in Methodist doctrine, to literally thousands of church members each week, both in The United Methodist Church and beyond. They are intentional in recruiting writers from various backgrounds, cultures, experiences, parts of the world, and more, so that they can provide a broader perspective on scripture than most churches would otherwise experience. Jarrod works closely with our writers to plan out themes, topics, lessons, and scriptures that can give readers an understanding of the Bible in its entirety, as well as specific topics that church groups wrestle with. Part of his job includes interacting with readers, and he often gets questions from Sunday school teachers and group leaders on how to approach a potentially difficult part of the lesson or scripture. He also gets to pass along compliments to the writers, and two of our most complimented writers are right here in the North Carolina Conference!
