Preparing for the Feast of Creation

Ecumenical partners from the World Council of Churches, World Methodist Council, Vatican, and several other worldwide denominational bodies have been working on an agreement to elevate the Feast of Creation to a major feast day in the church. This will be the first addition of a major feast day in centuries, and the change could come as soon as 2026. Dr. Janet Soskice is a professor at Duke Divinity School who has been centrally involved in bringing this to fruition. We will be hosting her and Rev. Jenny Phillips, Director of Environmental Sustainability, UMC General Board of Global Ministries, for an hour-long webinar during the lunch hour to educate clergy on this ecumenical movement and help them prepare to incorporate this new feast day into their worship planning.
