Terry served in NCCUMC congregations for 31 years before his retirement in 2025. Ordained in 2003, Rev. Williams is a graduate of Hamilton University, where he majored in Business Administration. He received his certification from Duke Divinity School as a part of their Course of Study program for second-career individuals. He has certifications in both Intentional Interim Ministry and Conflict Resolution. He has served on conference and district-level committees, including Chairperson of the NCCUMC Multicultural Ministries team for 8 years. He is currently a member of the NCCUMC Board of Ordained Ministry. He has led congregations of all sizes. He currently serves part-time as Pastor of Gibson Memorial UMC in Spring Hope, NC, and as an Associate with the NCCUMC Church Transformation Ministries Team.
He is married to the former Jane Bass, and they have four children, four grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, and one great-grandson. He is an avid reader, enjoys the beach, mountains, and all sports (Go DUKE).
