Rhonda is an ordained elder in full connection in the North Carolina Conference of The United Methodist Church. She is a graduate of East Carolina University with a B.S. in School and Community Health. She completed her theological education through the Duke Divinity School Course of Study and the Advanced Course of Study, as well as at Asbury Theological Seminary.
Rhonda has a diverse professional background, including 20 years as a Mental Health Professional with Pitt County Mental Health, 5 years as a Community Liaison for the City of Greenville, and 8 years as Assistant Director of Volunteer Services at Vidant Medical Center, where she also completed 2 years of Clinical Pastoral Education.
She entered The United Methodist Church after 18 years of ministry as an ordained Missionary Baptist minister with Cornerstone MB Church in Greenville. She was appointed in 2017 as full-time Associate Pastor for Mission and Empowerment at Jarvis Memorial UMC. In 2024, she was appointed Director of Outreach and Building for the North Carolina Conference.
Rhonda has served on numerous state and local boards and committees, including the Greenville Utilities Commission, the North Carolina Foundation for Alcohol and Drug Studies, and Pitt/Greenville Interfaith Clergy.
Raised on her grandparents’ farm in Franklin County, North Carolina, Rev. Jordan has a deep appreciation for God’s creation. She has lived in Greenville for 50 years and is married to Gaston Jordan Sr. They enjoy time at the beach and have one son, Gaston Jordan Jr.
