Celebrate Camp Sunday on February 22

Posted on

Dear Friends of The United Methodist Church,

Camp Sunday, scheduled for the last Sunday in February, will be celebrated on Sunday, February 22. Camp Sunday (or any Sunday) can be utilized in a number of ways to feature Camps Chestnut Ridge, Don Lee, and Rockfish as vital partners in faith formation.

Congregations may enjoy hearing from a camper, a staff member, or any others who have experienced the impact of camp. We invite you to share information about camp and retreat ministries with whatever means you have. Links to the camp websites are as follows:

In addition, if you have room in your worship services, please extend an invitation to any one of our Camp Directors, to me, or any staff member from camp to worship with you and share the transformational camp experience. We would be delighted to join you on February 22 or any Sunday that will work best for your congregation. We can share in a mission moment or step into the pulpit, depending on your worship schedule. Give me a call at 910-352-8081 if you would like any of us to join you and your congregations!

The NC UM Camp & Retreat Ministries recognizes that there are significant financial challenges in these economic times. We passionately share the Campership Scholarship Program for those who may need financial assistance to register their campers. We also gratefully welcome contributions to this very important fund. Camperships are vital to support families who may be experiencing financial challenges. Camperships have helped hundreds of campers experience the love of Jesus Christ at all of your camps. NO ONE is turned away due to financial challenges. NO ONE.

Your NC UM Camp & Retreat Ministries remains focused on providing incredible life-changing opportunities through the camp experience. Providing places apart at your three beautiful camps to help transform lives and establish a path of faith-filled discipleship is unique and needed. Camp and Retreat Ministries can provide that place where one can encounter God in new and vibrant ways and return home renewed and refreshed for the faith journey back home.

For 2026, we invite you to send a child to camp. Bring your entire church! It could be the start of something really powerful for your children, youth, adults, and entire congregations!
