Lee Rodio to Serve as Conference Parliamentarian

Lee Rodio

Bishop Connie Mitchell Shelton has named Lee Rodio the Parliamentarian for the North Carolina Conference. Rodio brings a wealth of experience and dedication to this vital role.

Rodio is a plaintiff litigation attorney at Howard Stallings Law Firm in Raleigh, NC, and a member of Mt. Sylvan UMC. He has served as a lay member to the NC Annual Conference since 2011 and as a delegate to the Southeastern Jurisdictional (SEJ) Conference since 2019. In 2014, he represented SEJ at the Global Young People’s Convocation-Legislative Assembly. Rodio also serves on the NC United Methodist Camp and Retreat Ministries and the Methodist Federation for Social Action, NC Chapter boards.

Reflecting on this new opportunity, Rodio shared, “Well, after years of making random points of order, citing obscure passages of Robert’s Rules (sorry, Bishop 😅), and generally annoying everyone who just wants to be done with debating Resolutions so that we can get to fixing appointments, I am sad to say that I have raised my last paddle… for now, at least. Jokes aside, I have a deep love and appreciation for the North Carolina Conference, and I am truly honored to have this new opportunity to serve as your Parliamentarian. Ours is a faith tradition where everyone has a voice, and I am excited to do my part to help ensure that our Holy Conferencing is an empowering environment where all are encouraged to let their voices be heard.”

Join us in welcoming Lee Rodio to his new role.
