New updates for Scouting Ministries relate to insurance coverage, document language, and how churches formalize their partnerships with Scouting groups.
- Insurance language has been updated to more clearly include coverage for bodily injury related to abuse or misconduct, with no exclusions.
- Document formatting and naming have been standardized under the new “Scouting America” identity, replacing all references to “Boy Scouts of America” or “BSA.” Boy Scouts of America officially changed its name to Scouting America in February 2025.
- Legal agreements such as the Final Affiliation Agreement and Facilities Use Agreement remain in effect, but churches are reminded these documents must not be modified.
- The Restructuring Plan is progressing, with compensation to survivors underway and a new Youth Protection Committee advising Scouting America on safety improvements.
