Two important reminders as we enter the season of Lent, which begins this week with Ash Wednesday:
Ash Wednesday Service
We will share a live Ash Wednesday service at noon via live.nccumc.org on Wednesday the 17th. To prepare for the service, please have available a container of dirt that is meaningful to you. Perhaps some from your garden, your yard, your farm, or some that you have brought back from a place of personal significance.
The service will be available for later viewing if you are not able to join us at noon.
Lenten Reflections
Beginning on Ash Wednesday, we will offer a daily reflection for the 40 days of Lent and Easter Sunday (remember that the 40 days of Lent do not include Sundays). A diverse group of writers from across our conference family will offer their thoughts on Isaiah 58:11:
“The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your needs in parched places, and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters never fail.” (NRSV)
The reflections will be available on the Lent 2021 website and emailed each day as well. Make sure you are subscribed to receive the daily devotions.
Join us on Wednesday and throughout the season of Lent. Our prayer is that this time of worship and these daily reflections will indeed be “like a spring of water, whose waters never fail.”
