Brothers and sisters across the North Carolina Annual Conference I write to you today seeking your help for our Mission Monday project at ACS (Annual Conference Session for Youth) this coming July. ACS is held every July at Methodist University for High School Students. To begin our time together on Monday night, we gather within our growth groups and work on a project that goes beyond the walls of ACS to transform not just the world but people in the world. Several years ago we put together supplies to make shoes out of jeans and milk jugs through an organization called Sole Hope that works to make shoes for people in Uganda. The year after that you all helped us create Domestic Violence kits. Our current youth officers have decided that the project for the 2018 ACS will be putting together Hygiene Kits for the MERCI center.
We come to you, the local church again to ask for your help and support so that we can put together as many kits as possible. Below you will find the items we are looking to collect. If you would like to make a financial contribution, you may do that by marking your gift, ACS Mission Monday Project. You may be asking yourself if I collect items how do I get them to you all in this summer? I am glad you asked because you have several different ways to do this:
First, send them with a high schooler that your church is sending to ACS.
Second, if you cannot do that, then you can bring them to Annual Conference and drop the items off at the Conference Youth/YSF Table.
Third, if the first two options are not possible, contact Rev. Matt Seals, Dean of Men and project coordinator for the Mission Monday project. I will be happy to help coordinate a way to get your items to the right place. Thank you so much for your support of Conference Youth Ministry and our Mission Monday projects in previous years and this year. It is our hope and prayer that through these projects all of God’s children will have what they need and that through these small tokens of love, people will experience God’s love.
