The IRS has released updated income tax withholding tables for 2018 that reflect changes made by the tax reform law enacted at the end of December. Employers should begin using the 2018 withholding tables by Feb. 15, the IRS said. The new withholding tables are designed to work with the Form W-4 that workers have already filed with their employers to claim withholding allowances. Discussion of the new tables and upcoming changes to the form W-4 can be found in an article from the Society for Human Resource Management. We encourage those responsible for payroll in local churches to review changes needed that result from the newly-enacted tax plan.
