As I began this Lenten journey for the first time as a pastor, I paused to reflect and rejoice on all the blessings our good good God has bestowed upon me.
Five short years ago, my life was literally and figuratively out of control. I had burned bridges, damaged relationships, and inflicted much hurt to many people. One person who never stopped loving me though was the one person who I turned my back on completely, my Savior, Jesus Christ. I’ll never forget the day that I surrendered my life to Him, and promised I would go through whatever door He opened for me.
He has surely opened some amazing ones! And as I promised, I have walked through every one, many times with a mix of excitement and being terrified at the same time! I am so grateful every day for the many ways God has blessed and continues to bless me, but here’s the Good News – he’s not just my God, He’s your God too. God will bless you as richly as I have been blessed! You just have to let Him.
I invite you, if you haven’t done it, to completely surrender your life to Jesus Christ today. Start your journey to the Cross this year with a complete and unconditional surrender to the Giver of all good things, and then share the Good News of a risen Savior with everyone, everywhere. Grace and peace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ be with you all.
