Mathison is guest evangelist during Sept. 27-30 Camp Meeting
Dr. John Ed Mathison is the guest evangelist for the 8th Annual Camp Meeting, that will be held Sunday – Wednesday, Sept. 27-30, 7 p.m. nightly at Butler’s Horse Farm in Bladen County, Hwy 53, 5 miles west of Elizabethtown. The event is sponsored by the NCC Commission on Evangelism and the Wilmington District. Attendance is open to anyone.
Each evening begins with music from various groups from across the district. Join us as we praise God through prayer, friends & fellowship, inspirational preaching and gospel music while worshiping in the beauty of the outdoors.
In 2008 Dr. Mathison retired from a 36-year tenure at Frazer UMC in Montgomery, AL. It was a remarkable time in the church’s history, remarkable in terms of both physical and spiritual growth. Frazer, with a membership approaching 9,000, stands as testimony to Mathison’s vision and stewardship . He now leads the non-profit John Ed Mathison Leadership Ministry in Montgomery, AL.
A bonus day session for Clergy and Laity entitled “Every Member a Minister” with Dr. Mathison will be held Tuesday, Sept. 29, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. (free lunch) at Wesley UMC in Riegelwood, 104 Hwy 87 in Riegelwood. Please call the Wilmington District Office, 910-762-0400, to make lunch reservations.
