Learning sessions planned for “Walking across the Road”
NC Conference Connectional Ministries and The Academy of Leadership Excellence are hosting The Church for All People and staff leaders from GBGM for “Walking Across The Road: Creating Community and Building Faith Through Relationships.” The workshop will take place at Nashville UMC, from 9:30a.m.-3:30p.m., on Sept. 21. A cost of $10 (plus transaction fee) will go toward lunch provided to registered attendees. The day will feature worship, reflections on population groups in the area, breakout sessions and a panel discussion on how to get the party started in your own context. Forum to discuss Immigration on Oct. 2

Bishop Ward and the Conference Board of Church and Society are hosting a series of forums addressing challenging social issues impacting churches and communities. The first in the series will be Wednesday, Oct. 2 at the Methodist Building in Garner. It will be a discussion on Immigration Reform and Reaching Out in Ministry to Immigrants. Featured speakers will be Jorge Ochoa Lonji, pastor at Jonesboro-La Trinidad Hispanic Ministry (Fairway District) and Ismael Ruiz-Millan, director of the Hispanic House of Studies at Duke Divinity School. Lunch will be provided for a $5 cash donation at the door but registration for lunch must be provided to Robin Harry, firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Sept. 25 to be included in the catering number.

Volunteer Youth Worker Training at Edenton UMC
The goal at WellSeasonedYM is to empower local United Methodist churches and new faith communities in the NC Conference which use volunteer youth leaders through training, coaching and mentoring. UM Foundation Annual Meeting postponed
