Conference Survey Open on District Transition
Two years ago the North Carolina Conference embarked on a new path of district leadership design and deployment. The Transition Team solicited, and received, feedback from lay and clergy in the conference which aided them in their decisions. It is time to check in to see how those changes are working for us. You are invited to offer your comments and responses in a confidential survey.
Bishop’s Forum on Israel/Palestine
The Bishop’s Forum on Oct. 16 will focus on the church’s response to the Israel/Palestine crisis. The forum will begin at 11am and end at 1pm. Our guest speaker will be The Rev. Alex Joyner, author of a book on Israel and currently Superintendent of the Eastern Shore District of the Virginia Conference. The 5th Annual Camp Chestnut Ridge Trail Run
The race will be run on the trails at Chestnut Ridge Camp & Retreat Center. The course will feature rolling hills through old hardwood forests and run around Lake Fellowship. This year’s event will feature two race options – a 4-mile race and an 8-mile race. Walkers are welcome on the 4 mile trail too! The Trail Run is Sat., Nov. 22. Check-in begins at 9am. Registration numbers are limited, so don’t wait! Online registration closes Nov. 20. Pre-registration starts at $30. Proceeds benefit the Annual Fund.

Gate Camp is birthed out of a desire to create an experience that merges together the best parts of a youth conference and a mission trip.
