United Methodist Student Day – Nov. 27
United Methodist Student Day is Nov. 27. Participation in this Special Sunday is important to so many United Methodist students who struggle to meet the financial obligations of higher education. Gifts provide scholarships and loans for United Methodist students who might not be able to pursue higher education without this support. Offering inserts, a poster, worship resources, stories, videos and a PowerPoint presentation are available online at Student Day. Order printed offering posters and leaflets online or by calling 888-346-3862.

Nominations form online for conference boards and agencies
Leaders in the NC Conference are needed for the quadrennium, 2012 – 2016, to serve on boards, committees and teams within the Conference. Many who currently are serving will not be eligible to continue, as the Conference policy allows continuous service in a role for up to 8 consecutive years. Please give consideration to offering your passion for building up the Body of Christ, using your spiritual gifts and expertise in ways that will strengthen the Church. Lay and clergy members of the conference are encouraged to apply, and to reflect the whole of God’s creation, persons representing all racial, ethnic, gender, age and abilities are desired. The application process is online at Nominations.

Walking program back on track
The new pedometers for the Amazing Pace walking program have been shipped out. Participants that were previously enrolled, but have not received the new pedometer need to verify their registration and shipping info with the customer service department. Customer service contact info is 1-800-748-9697 extension 205 or lee@lifebux.com. Participants who were registered by Nov. 1 will meet the first criteria to earn the cash incentive. Remember to keep wearing it at least 65% of the days of the journey in order to meet the second criteria required to qualify!  Participants who have the new pedometer may wish to “fall back” the time setting. To see the Omron Instruction Manual on setting the time and other info about the features of the pedometers, visit the new NCC Amazing Pace website.

Deadline for Open Enrollment is Nov. 30
The Conference Insurance plan’s Open Enrollment period is Nov. 1 – 30. All insurance plan participants should refer to the annual packet they received last month for information regarding this benefit and the steps to complete the Open Enrollment process. There are changes to rates and benefits for 2012. Participants have until midnight on Nov. 30 to decide between a Base Plan and a Buy-Up Plan. If no election is made, then the participant will be placed in the Base Plan.  For questions, contact the Conference Benefits Team in the Treasurer’s Office at 1-800-849-4433.
