Disciple Making is NOT a Program
Jan. 13 and 14, 2012     9:30 am – 3:30 pm
Cost: $15 per person (includes lunch)
A training event for lay and clergy will be presented at the Methodist Building in Garner by Dr. Steve Manskar, director of Wesleyan Leadership for The General Board of Discipleship. Friday’s one-day event will be repeated on Saturday. (Participants attend only one day.) This training opportunity will offer a look at small groups, a core element in the Wesleyan DNA and how John Wesley used the small group system for discipleship. It will also describe ways they can be utilized in today’s church as a means of making and growing disciples. Online registration is at Disciple-Making.

Windows for Education at Louisburg College completed
There will be a celebration at Louisburg College on Dec. 3 to honor the completion of the Windows for Education project. The project focused on three historic campus buildings: Main Hall (1857), Davis (1913), and Franklin (1927). Conference United Methodist Men have been instrumental in helping fund this project. Over $35,000 was contributed, in addition to College funds. Churches, ministry officials, alumni and friends of Louisburg College contributed, as well as the Historic Preservation Foundation of North Carolina. The day will begin with refreshments in Benson Chapel at 10:30 a.m. The dedication of the windows will be at 11 a.m. and a complimentary lunch will follow at noon in the Alumni Room. There will be tours after lunch for persons wishing to stay longer. For more information, contact Jamie Patrick at: jpatrick@louisburg.edu or 919-497-3245.

Open Enrollment Deadline Nov. 30
The deadline for all conference insurance plan participants to complete the 2012 elections is Wednesday, Nov. 30. Participants that do not make an election by this date will be placed in the Base Plan for health insurance coverage. The Base Plan provides reduced coverage as compared to the 2011 benefits. To choose the Buy-Up Plan coverage (same health plan benefits as offered in 2011) or to set up Flexible Spending Account elections, participants need to log into http://www.ebenefitsnow.com/. For assistance, please contact the Benefits Team in the Treasurer’s Office at 1-800-849-4433.

Seeking 2012 Pilgrimage Feedback
Pilgrimage 2011 was a wonderful event and many thanks go out to all who made it possible. Please help the design team as they begin making plans for next year by sending your feedback. Pastors and youth workers, please send this to everyone in your congregations who may wish to respond. The deadline for the survey is Wednesday, Nov. 30. Thank you for continuing to support this ministry and suggestions for next year.
