Scholarships offered for the 5-Day Academy
The NC 5-Day Academy for Spiritual Formation will be held at the Trinity Center in Salter Path, Sept. 25-30. The retreat is co-sponsored by the NC Conference and The Upper Room. One of the goals of the Academy team is to have more pastors experience this time of study, rest, worship and community. Recognizing that costs might be a factor for some pastors, 10 scholarships have been made available to North Carolina Methodist pastors. Each scholarship will be a $200 reduction in the $750 registration cost, which is an all-inclusive fee for a week on the NC coast. To see the brochure, go to Five Day Academy. To apply for a scholarship, the person: 1) should be a UM pastor in North Carolina; 2) must write a brief paragraph about why they would like to attend and how this will benefit their ministry; and 3) must confirm that if they receive the scholarship, they will attend the retreat and can pay the balance of the registration. In the event that more than 10 persons apply for scholarships, the decision of the Academy Leadership team is final. To apply for a scholarship, e-mail Tom Campbell at: tomcamp@bellsouth.net. Those awarded scholarships will be notified by June 1.
