Workshops for Musicians and Worship Leaders
The Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts is co-sponsoring a learning event July 18-19 at Campbell University Divinity School in Buies Creek. It’s close by, it’s affordable, and it’s going to be a great event! Participants will have an opportunity to attend reading sessions of new music, preview and purchase “Worship and Song,” the new United Methodist hymnal supplement and worship resource, choose an area of training that best fits the needs of what they do in the local church, and learn from nationally-known clinicians Pepper Choplin, David Schwoebel, Mark Edwards, and Terry Taylor. There is an option to attend only one day if you are not able to commit to the whole event. Please check out the website Oasis and make plans to attend.
Writer seeking stories and anecdotes about Bishop Edwards
A retired pastor in the South Georgia Conference is writing a brief biography of Bishop Marion Edwards and has asked for some assistance to prepare a chapter on “The North Carolina Years.” If you have a remembrance, a story, or comment about Bishop Edwards’ time among the people of the North Carolina Conference, please send it to Belton Joyner at: email@example.com.
Campus ministers need information
Pastors, please remember to enter into the online data collection system the names and contact information for high school graduates by May 30. In addition, if the student plans to attend school in the fall, indicate the school of choice for the Fall, 2011 semester. This mid-year entry to the online data system is crucial to campus ministries at the universities and community colleges. Students’ names are not provided to campus ministers and students typically do not indicate religious preference when they enroll. Please provide the connection for students and a campus ministry at their school of choice, listing every graduate and every school intended.
