Highlights of Annual Conference Online
Miss something at Annual Conference? A few videos have been uploaded to the Video Room showing some highlights, like the State of The Church Address and Gil Rendle’s sessions. The NCC Christian Advocate is online free until January
The Advocate can now be read fully online at nccadvocate.com. It is currently being tested and tweaked to give anyone the ability to get the news and information they want easily. It is free for anyone to access the site until January 2013. After the free trial period, persons will be required to purchase a subscription to read The Advocate. At this time, clergy will begin receiving The Advocate online only. Feedback on the look, navigation and features of the site is appreciated.
UMW interim district presidents
The North Carolina Conference UMW President LaNella Smith has announced the names of women to serve as interim UMW presidents of the new districts. These women will be formally elected at the UMW fall organizational annual meetings of the new districts.

United Methodist Women continue their efforts to turn faith, hope and love into action on behalf women child and youth around the world.
Youth Ministry Leadership Training
A Youth Ministry leadership training event for all youth and the adults who work with youth will be held Sunday, Aug. 19, 4-7pm. Youth officers and adult volunteers are encouraged to attend. The training is hosted by the Raleigh Area YOWO (youth workers) group. Cost is $10 per person to cover dinner and supplies. Payment is due at registration. The event will be at Millbrook UMC (1712 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh, 27609). Participants will have the chance to learn about leadership qualities for student leaders. Adult leaders will have choices of various workshops including Counseling 101 (dealing with crisis), Your First Two-Years in Youth Ministry and Veteran Youth Ministry with Chris Sasser of Youth Ministry Architects.
