Rebuilding/repair teams needed
Volunteer teams are needed for hurricane repair and construction in Pamlico, Beaufort, Hyde and Dare counties. Volunteers repair & replace roofs and repair flooded homes (tearing out and replacing floors, walls, insulation, with some electrical, plumbing and finish carpentry needed.) In some cases, homes that have been elevated to prevent future flooding are repaired and new steps and porches are built. Team housing is located at each disaster center. There is no cost for either team housing or building materials though donations are very welcome. Teams are asked to purchase and prepare their meals. To book a volunteer team or come as an individual, please call Ann Huffman at the Disaster Call Center at 888-440-9167 or email: email@example.com.

Shifting from Management to Mission
Gil Rendle will be the key presenter at the 2012 Ministry Summit: Shifting from Management to Mission Aug. 5-7 at Lake Junaluska Assembly. The Summit will explore some of the fundamentals of change that the church is facing: ministry in a changed and constantly changing mission field requires learning new ways of outreach rather than relying on standard practices. Laity and clergy leaders are invited to explore the leadership of congregations to understand the need for clear outcomes in any situation and the leadership role of conversation as a tool for discernment. For more information and to register, visit http://www.lakejunaluska.com/2012-summit/.
