Methodist Home for Children Sunday is February 17
Every day in North Carolina, abused and neglected children are left to fend for themselves, to care for younger siblings and to survive in households void of love or stability. Last year, the Methodist Home for Children served more than 1,400 children and families through the grace of God and the generosity of congregations in the North Carolina conference. Please support this important UM ministry this year with your gifts on MHC Sunday, Feb. 17. Visit MHFC Sunday to learn more.

Celebrate the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
From its founding more than 75 years ago, the NC Council of Churches has worked toward Christian unity, and now calls members in celebrating the annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity from Jan. 18-25. Resources for prayer services, prayers of the faithful and musical suggestions for this year’s celebration can be found at Christian unity. An observance will be held Tuesday, Jan. 22, 7 p.m. at Resurrection UMC in Durham. The Rev. Hope Morgan Ward, NCC resident bishop, and the Most Reverend Michael Burbidge, bishop of Raleigh Catholic Diocese, will participate in an ecumenical Service of the Word along with other clergy. All are invited to come and participate.
