NCUMC Health Insurance Participants’ ID Cards
Participants of the Conference health insurance plan (administered by Blue Cross & Blue Shield of NC) recently received a new set of identification cards which were printed without the DentalBlue logo in the lower left corner. The NC Conference health plan still includes dental benefits. BCBSNC has issued corrected cards and a letter of apology. Upon receipt of the corrected card and letter, please destroy all previous cards. If you require additional cards, please contact Caroline Thornton at 800-849-4433 extension 228.
Global Vision Registration Deadline
The deadline for high school youth to register for Global Vision – a study seminar in Washington, DC and New York City with the United Methodist Seminar Office of National and International Affairs is Jan. 19. The registration form is found in the 2010 Youth Events brochure which is available online at www.nccumc.org/youth. Global Vision takes place March 16-21.
Children’s Ministry Forum
The national denominational event for leaders in children’s ministry – Children’s Ministry Forum – will be hosted by the North Carolina Conference and Edenton St UMC in Raleigh Feb. 23-25. The website with schedule, list of workshops and registration information is www.gbod.org/cmf. The registration deadline is Jan. 31. A limited number of scholarships are available from the Conference Children’s Ministry Team if application is made by Jan. 20. Application forms are available by email from: email@example.com.
Youth Lay Speaker Training
The Youth only Lay Speaker Training will be held Saturday, Feb. 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Methodist Building in Raleigh. The application for youth 8th grade and older is available at www.nccumc.org/youth. Lunch is included and there is no cost to the training. Applications must be received by Feb. 5.
Conference Confirmation Celebration
The Conference Confirmation Celebration will be Saturday, March 6 at Methodist University. Confirmation classes and their mentors are invited to attend. The Celebration will explore the membership covenant vows of prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness. Lunch will be included. Pre-registration of groups planning to attend is required. The registration form and other information about the event is available at www.nccumc.org/youth. The cost is $15 per person which includes lunch and funding the service project of Operation Sharehouse with Stop Hunger Now. The registration deadline is Feb. 22.

Resource Giveaway Extravaganza
To prepare for relocation of the Methodist Building to the new building – many resources including books, curriculum, videos, etc. are available for the taking at the Resource Giveaway Extravaganza on Feb. 5 – 6. The giveaway will be held in the Assembly Room of the Methodist Building on Friday, Feb. 5 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, Feb. 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
