Close-out period for 2011 apportionment payments
In order to receive credit for 2011, apportionment and advance specials payments must be received in the Conference Treasurer’s Office by 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18. Sunday Special Offerings must be received by Dec. 30, in order to be applied to 2011. Payments for the special offerings received after Dec. 30 will be applied to 2012. In order to be received on time, apportionment payments should be mailed to the Charlotte Lockbox no later than Tuesday, Jan. 10. After Tuesday, Jan.10, mail payments directly to: NCCUMC Treasurer’s Office, Attn: Diana Hunter, 700 Waterfield Ridge Pl., Garner, NC 27529. Payments may also be hand delivered or sent by overnight mail to the Methodist Building using the same address.

New Songs and Hymns Competition
United Theological Seminary in Dayton, OH, is pleased to announce its first song and hymn-writing competition, “New Songs and Hymns for Renewal.” Writers and composers are invited to submit songs or hymns with themes of church renewal or personal spiritual renewal. Submissions are due by April 20. Cash prizes will be awarded and the winning compositions will be performed at a Music Ministry Convocation in June, 2012. Youth Service Fund grant applications
Youth Service Fund (YSF) is a mission fund exclusively of United Methodist Youth. YSF is money raised by youth, spent by youth to benefit youth. Ministries and programs that benefit young people and would not be considered typical local church youth ministry activities may apply for a Youth Service Fund grant. The YSF grant application deadline is Jan. 13. The application is available at YSF application. A limited number of in-conference grants are awarded. A reasonable grant request range is $100 to $2000. Applications for typical youth ministry activities such as mission trips will not be considered. Grants will be awarded in early 2012.
