Bishop Gwinn calling for special Hurricane relief offering
Bishop Al Gwinn is asking each congregation to take an offering as soon as possible for Hurricane Irene disaster relief. 100% of all money received for this offering will be used to provide supplies and other assistance to areas in eastern North Carolina deeply affected by the Aug. 27 hurricane. Funds should be sent to the NC Conference, P.O. Box 60053, Charlotte, NC 28260, clearly designated for Advance #S-00176.
Persons needing relief assistance or those willing to volunteer either in the call center at the United Methodist Building in Garner, the distribution center in Goldsboro, or on workteams, can call 888-440-9167. A letter from Bishop Gwinn concerning hurricane relief has been sent to all pastors via email.
