Afghan Refugees Need Your Help! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I was hungry and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me.” – Matthew 25:35<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afghan refugees will be arriving in the Triangle area soon. We encourage you to support our ministry partners who are busy preparing to welcome them. Church World Service<\/strong> and World Relief <\/strong>have offices in Durham and are already working to resettle our new neighbors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Right now, the biggest need is financial support. Church World Service<\/strong> will be providing housing, food, clothing, legal services and more and with very little time to plan.  You can give through your local church to Advance #982540<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Locally, Church World Service might have needs for volunteers eventually. They also have a few advocacy statements that churches might promote. You can see all of this information on the CWS website here: https:\/\/cwsglobal.org\/take-action\/afghan-siv-and-refugee-program\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a form on the site above that any person or church can fill out to be connected with the local resettlement office in Durham if they are within 100 miles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

World Relief<\/strong> is another Christian organization with an office in Durham. 801 Gilbert St #209 Durham, NC 27701 P: (919) 286-3496 F: (866) 599-4739<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We encourage you to share with your churches the websites above and ask them to give, speak out, and sign up.  Please consider supporting these professional refugee resettlement agencies.
