\"SteveSteve Taylor is currently serving as Outreach Team Coordinator for the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church, a ministry of congregational transformation, discipleship formation, mission outreach, and justice.\u00a0 He served as a Commissioned Missionary of the United Methodist Church, Church and Community Worker, and for six years worked at the Robeson County Church and Community Center (RCC&CC) in Lumberton, North Carolina, where he served as Housing Director and Executive Director.\u00a0 RCC&CC is a national level mission dedicated to the service of love, compassion, and social justice.\u00a0 This ministry is supported by the United Methodist Church and by the ecumenical faith community.<\/p>\n

Steve Taylor is a deeply dedicated Christian who has served in collaborative, results oriented ministries for more than 20 years. As a missionary in faith-based community transformation, Steve has extensive experience in assisting congregations through ministry discernment and creative mission development.<\/p>\n

In urban and rural environments, Steve has helped local churches serve alongside community organizations, blending together diverse groups, collective fiscal resources, efforts, and spiritual energies. Steve has led multiple retreats and workshops on spiritual leadership, social justice, and refugee relief.\u00a0 He is a gifted teacher and has worked with dozens of congregations in Biblical Animation — a highly engaging, fun, and experiential study of scripture that brings scripture to life in one\u2019s own community.\u00a0 A common response from participants is, \u201cThis has changed the way I understand ministry in the world.\u00a0 The bible story is happening here and now!\u201d<\/p>\n

In all things, Steve challenges believers to ask, \u201cWhere do we see Jesus?\u201d and brings a passion for discovering the heart of God in our relationships with the least of these. \u201cWhen we participate in ministry with the poor, it is not simply an act of humanitarian concern; it is an act of sacred communion with the Jesus who says he is found with those who are hungry or in prison. It is fundamentally a space of Christian transformation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Steve is an activist for the poor, for peace-making and economic justice, and has worked in the arena of prison ministry.\u00a0 A twenty-year United States Air Force veteran, Steve is now an advocate for non-violence.\u00a0 He is married to Sheryl Bilski Taylor, a picture of God\u2019s love in his world.<\/p>\n

Steve and Sheryl have two children, Joy, 36, and Brett, 31, and four grandchildren:\u00a0 Taylor, Mack, Kaylee, and Kilee.<\/p>\n
