UMVIM Grants and Scholarships<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

NC Conference Missional Exchange Grants<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Missional Exchange Grants are intended to encourage UMVIM initiatives by various groups. All team leaders from the North Carolina Conference of The United Methodist Church must receive approval from the Conference UMVIM Committee. Team leader training<\/a> by the Conference UMVIM Committee is required to qualify for this grant. Leaders must have taken their initial or refresher course within the four-year period prior to the trip. Additionally, teams seeking this grant must register for insurance through UMVIM, SEJ<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Domestic (within the US) UMVIM Teams can receive up to $500 per team. International teams can receive up to $1,000 per team.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scholarships for Individuals<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

NCC UMVIM offers scholarships to individuals from these funds that have been created over the years.\u00a0These opportunities include:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Amanda Lee Scholarship Fund<\/strong>\u00a0was created in memory of Amanda Lee, the daughter of Rev. Jim & Sharon Lee. Amanda was a team member which assisted in the building of Steer Town Methodist Church in Jamaica. She died in a house fire in November of 1999 and family and friends contributed to the Amanda Lee Scholarship Fund.\u00a0\u00a0Priority is given to young adults (ages 18-29).\u00a0Scholarships will not exceed $200.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jason K. Branton Scholarship Fund<\/strong> was created in memory of Jason K. Branton, the grandson of Virginia Wrenn. Jason died from a hunting accident in November of 1999. Virginia Wrenn\u2019s love of UMVIM led her to set up the scholarship fund. Scholarships will not exceed $100.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
