Fight hunger globally and locally. Join with your friends and neighbors in one of the annual Spring CROP Walks in your area. There is still time.
CROP Hunger Walks are community-wide events sponsored by Church World Service CWS) and organized by religious groups, businesses, and schools to raise funds to end hunger in the US and around the world. Twenty percent of the funds raised remain in the local community, benefiting area food pantries and community gardens.
The list of upcoming Walks include the following:
- Chapel Hill/Carrboro – Sunday April 19, 2015
- Cumberland Country (Fayetteville) – March 29, 2015
- Durham – March 22, 2015
- Roxboro (Person County) – April 26, 2015
- Sand Hills (Southern Pines) – March 22, 2015.
Cities and towns not listed may be holding a CROP Hunger Walk in the Fall. Check the complete list of CROP Hunger Walks for other dates and places. The CWS website has a wealth of resources for use by congregations, schools, and other groups. Even if you do not Walk, check out the educational material about food, nutrition, and hunger and learn more about what can be done to ensure that everyone in the world has enough healthy food to eat.
