Rev. Jabe Largen has been singing the praises of his Duplin County congregation for quite some time. He is proud of all the mission activity they have embraced and knows they are making a difference in the lives of their neighbors. They have served meals to children during the summer, opened a soccer field for community activities, partnered with the local public schools, and they operate a thrift store. All these ministries, plus several more have earned them the 2019 Key Taylor Award.
The funds associated with this honor are managed through the United Methodist Foundation and were initiated in 1958 by Rev. Key Taylor, who wanted to draw attention to the missions happening in and through rural churches. We celebrate with the members and friends of Faison United Methodist Church as they continue to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world!
