Come join the Society of St. Andrew in harvesting sweet potatoes to feed the hungry! The remaining three Saturdays in October, you are invited to bring your whole family to glean sweet potatoes in Harnett, Johnson, and southern Wake counties, from 8:30 AM – 1 PM. The goal is 100,000 pounds (300,000 servings).
The LORD told the people through Moses that they were to leave the fallen harvest for the needy and the stranger (Lev. 19:9-10). In NC today, we help make this possible by gleaning (gathering the left over) sweet potatoes and making them available to food pantries. 1.8 million North Carolinians lack sufficient nutritional food to meet their daily needs. 100,000 pounds will make a big difference.
