There is an immediate need to assist scores of our brothers and sisters who continue to suffer as result of earlier floods. We know of at least 50 homes in immediate need of assistance. First, the need is for $100,000 to purchase building materials to assist these victims. Then, they will need assistance from volunteer work teams. Donate now by clicking here.
Earlier this fall, North Carolina was hit by historic rain storms that resulted in devastating flooding across the state. Fourteen counties within the NC Conference were declared as eligible for federal disaster assistance. In addition to the initial response by NC disaster response teams, we also employed a case manager to discern the recovery needs of so many whose homes were damaged or destroyed in the floods. We now know of at least 50 homes that require immediate assistance. Most of these homes received some federal assistance but not enough to make the necessary repairs to once again safely inhabit the homes. Our neighbors need our assistance. Please prayerfully consider how you can help.
Gifts for disaster response are needed; if you did not do it earlier, please announce the special offering for NC Storms Emergency Response, as soon as possible, and submit funds to Conference Advance #SOO176. Send remittances, using the Conference remittance form, to Conference Treasurer, North Carolina Conference/Raleigh Area, P.O. Box 60053, Charlotte, NC 28260. This is a Rainbow Covenant Advance.
If you have a team that you would like to bring, please complete the Recovery Volunteer Team Application at: Recovery Volunteer Form.
