Lake Junaluska will be featured on UNC-TV’s program “North Carolina Weekend” on Thursday, August 17 at 9 p.m., and again on Friday, August 18 at 7:30 p.m. North Carolina Weekend is a program that showcases the best things to see and do across North Carolina, including historic sites, festivals, music, restaurants and places to stay.
Mitzi Johnson named Director of Programming at Lake Junaluska

Lake Junaluska Hosts Native American Women
SEJANAM, the Southeastern Jurisdictional Agency for Native American Ministries, and Lake Junaluska will be hosting the first Native Women’s Gathering and Conference Oct. 16-18. The theme of the event is “Re-Defining Our Place: Native Women Speak!” Helping to lead worship will be Louisa Locklear and April Oxendine of the North Carolina Annual Conference.
Lake Junaluska Peace Conference 2009
“People of Faith Building Partnerships for Peace” is the theme of the peace conference Sept. 20-22, at Lake Junaluska Conference & Retreat Center. Speakers will include representatives of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Workshops will focus on the practice of peace-making, especially for advocacy in local communities.
