Recently, the Rev. Tim Reaves and the Rev. Thurman Horney traveled to Lakeland, Florida to present the Harry Denman Award for Evangelism to the Rev. Dr. Marty Cauley on behalf of the North Carolina Conference.
The Harry Denman Evangelism Award program honors United Methodists in each annual conference whose exceptional ministry of evangelism – expressed in Word (what), Sign (why), and Deed (how) – brings people into a life-transforming relationship with Jesus Christ.
Cauley’s ministry has included local church ministry, serving as the director of Ministries with Young People for the Southeastern Jurisdiction of The United Methodist Church at Lake Junaluska, and as Director of Partner and Planter Development with New Faith Communities in the NC Conference. He is currently on medical leave, living in Florida with his wife, Danelle.
In presenting the award to Cauley, Reaves said, “We cannot think of anybody more deserving for a lifetime achievement of evangelism. In every role you’ve had in the church, it has been about reaching people for Jesus.”
