Immediately before General Conference 2019, the United Methodist Association of Communicators (UMAC) met in St. Louis, MO for their annual meeting, where they presented Awards for Excellence. The North Carolina Conference Communications Team was honored for several projects.
The weekly newsletter, Connections, received a second-place recognition in the eNewsletter category. Derek Leek, Chris Daniel, Linda Smith, and LeeAnne Thornton are contributors.
The electronic publication, 2019 Mission & Service book, was honored as the first-place recipient for Electronic Publications. Contributors were Derek Leek, Julie Brown, and LeeAnne Thornton.
40 Days of Reflection: A Coloring Book Supporting North Carolina Disaster Response
and creators Hannah Koch, Julie Brown and Derek Leek were honored with first place in the Special Publications category and Best in Class: Robert F. Storey Award of Excellence for print publication. Best in Class is the award given to the publication selected best from all entries submitted in a class.
