The 2016 Convocation & Pastors’ School, “Who Needs Theology?: Inside and Outside the Church” happens October 10-11 at Duke Divinity School. Christian leaders of all traditions will come together for two days of lectures, worship, seminars and conversation. This year’s event will draw on the perspectives of leaders in science, medicine, business, and the church as we explore theology as a shaping force in our daily lives.
Featured presenters include Elaine A. Heath, dean-elect of Duke Divinity School, Norman Wirzba, professor, Duke Divinity School, and Convocation preacher Brian Combs, founder and pastor, Haywood Street Congregation, Asheville, NC.
Kenneth H. Carter, Jr., resident bishop of the Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church, and Ellen F. Davis, interim dean of Duke Divinity School, will lead panels featuring clergy and other influential leaders spanning multiple professions.
