As part of the new website, MyCallStory.org, Higher Education and Ministry has launched a Facebook video contest, #IAmCalled.
The #IAmCalled video contest runs from December 11th through January 20th. The video with the most votes by January 20th will receive a prize pack that includes a signed copy of The Christian as Minister. The winner will also be featured as a spotlight story at General Conference 2016 (May 10-20), in addition to being featured on the MyCallStory.org website and all of Higher Education and Ministry’s social media channels.
For this contest entrants are asked to limit their call story to three minutes or less. Call stories recorded on phone or webcam are happily encouraged and received. In their video testimony, participants are asked to detail why they feel called to do the work they do. They should consider how their calling, ministry or project is making a difference.
Call stories have the potential to touch the lives of people who might be considering a vocation in ministry – whether in the pulpit or beyond. When shared through social media, the message of call could spread exponentially, serving as a powerful inspiration to many, both in and outside of the United Methodist Church. Higher Education and Ministry hopes to inspire others to pursue their calling.
