Calling all Deacons, Diaconal Ministers, Deaconesses, Home Missioners, and any leaders with a deacon’s heart! You are invited to participate in a long-term, communal learning experience and discussion about what it means to be a deacon in the United Methodist tradition.
We will be working and discussing our way through a seven-part study of Dr. Margaret Ann Crain’s The United Methodist Deacon: Ordained to Word, Service, Compassion, and Justice (2014). We will have an online conversation through text chat of one book chapter per session, and the group will have the ability to share thoughts and conversation in a forum or blog-style chat between meetings.
All of our study and discussion will culminate in a physical gathering to hear Dr. Crain speak in person. This is a wonderful opportunity for us all to learn, discover, and discern together what it means (and what it will mean) to be a deacon.
To participate register through the Conference Moodle site.
