As you may know Liberia is experiencing extreme devastation because of the Ebola crisis in Liberia. The crisis has shutdown food markets. Today we received information that finding and purchasing food is extremely difficult. In response to this crisis the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church is requesting food donations at the NC Conference Mission Team/Disaster Response warehouse located at:
3MC
676 Community Dr. Goldsboro
We are able to receive donations Tuesday, Sept 2, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and on Wednesday, Sept 3, 9 a.m. – noon. This is for a one-time shipment and we cannot accept donations outside of the specified times.
The following are the items requested. Please only bring these items:
- 1 bag sugar (4-5 lb.)
- 1 bag rice (2 lb.)
- 1 bag dried beans (2 lb.)
- 1 powdered milk (10 oz. or less)
- 1 box old-fashioned oats (18 oz. or less)
- 1 bottle cooking oil (48 oz. or less)
- 2 cans meat: ham, spam, or tuna
We also need volunteers to help us pack food buckets. Please contact Rev. Bill Haddock at revbillh@nccumc.org or call (910) 262-3831.
Please prayerfully consider donating to Love for Liberia, NC Conference Advance #S-00221, to assist in the shipping costs and purchase of desperately needed food and medical supplies. This donation can be made during your local Sunday morning offering.
